Young adolescent autistics especially, appear to have become drawn into the cultural mele that is 'gender identity' and 'transgenderism'. This cultural pathway that would normally be a period of fashion exploration in a young persons life, with changes in name, hair, clothes and such like, now has the risk of leading to a medical pathway whereby mental and physical health can deteriorate and result in a life time of medical interventions. Autistic people are over represented in this group and we feel are not being safeguarded.
